WaKIDS - Washington Kindergarten Inventory of Skills

Description:  This program is a transition process that helps to ensure a successful start to the K-12   experience and connect the key adults in a child’s life.

When is it given?:  This assessment is given during the first two months of school.

How data is used:  Results are used to help kindergarten teachers learn about the skills and strengths of the children in their classrooms so they can meet the needs of each child.

MAP - Measure of Academic Progress

Description:  Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) tests present students with engaging, age-appropriate content. As a student responds to questions, the test responds to the student, adjusting up or down in difficulty.

When is it given?:  This assessment is given in the fall, winter, and spring.

Subjects tested:  The two subjects assessed are reading and math.

How data is used:  Results are used to show student growth.
